Our Beginnings

Maddox Construction, L.C. Is a multi-million dollar, FAMILY OPERATED BUSINESS working in Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Nevada, Arizona, and Idaho. We are a company with 30 employees and excellent Sub Contractors whom we’ve been doing business with for multiple years. Our Services include Commercial and Residential General Contracting of new and existing buildings, Design Builds, Construction Management, Asset Management, Structural Concrete and Vaults. Maddox Construction, L.C. and our team take pride in providing top quality construction services at a fair price.

Our clients who we do work for consistently include: Gardner Company, KFC, Einstein Bagels, Chip Cookies, Robeks, Boyer Company, City of South Salt Lake, Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Arbor Homes, Coldwell Banker as well as many Commercial and Homeowner clients.

BUILDING EXCELLENCE FROM THE START

In 1998, John Maddox set out to build a construction company with a solid reputation for quality and integrity. The former chef turned construction superintendent got his contractor’s license and began doing residential remodels and tenant improvements for commercial properties. He has steered and grown the company through many shifts and changes in focus—from the early years of remodeling and tenant improvements through shifts to structural concrete, security installations, building homes from the ground up, site development and ground up commercial builds. The one thing that remained constant through all the shifts and changes was John’s commitment to excellence and dedication to his growing team. Today, John focuses on changing the organizational structure of the business, including enhancing processes and workflows, while his son, Kaden, runs the day-to-day operations and pushes the company to the next level.As the Vice President of Operations, Kaden is focused on growing the business and his team while maintaining the commitment to honesty, integrity, safety, and quality for which Maddox is known.

He believes that the keys to success are communication, trust, and commitment and he values relationships and transparency. He is proud of the company’s reputation for exceptional customer experiences and setting clear expectations with customers and employees alike. He is a proponent of managing systems rather than managing people, and feels that having the right system in place enables scalability and allows the business to grow in the right direction.

Kaden has big plans for Maddox Construction. He is focused on growing the business and his team to become the first name in commercial and residential construction in Utah and across the western United States.

CONTINUING THE TRADITION

Kaden Maddox got his start in the construction business when he was just 12 years old, In 1999, his dad, John, started Maddox Construction and Kaden worked with him in the summers, pouring footings for the concrete division. Over the next six summers, Kaden worked with John each summer to learn the ins and outs of the business. When he turned 18, he joined the company full time and by age 19, he was managing two concrete crews. When the company shifted focus to concentrate on commercial and residential construction, Kaden continued to work diligently, honing his construction and management skills. In 2023, when John Maddox shifted his focus from field work to enhancing processes and workflows, Kaden took over the day-to-day operations of Maddox Construction.

As the Vice President of Operations, Kaden is focused on growing the business and his team while maintaining the commitment to honesty, integrity, safety, and quality for which Maddox is known.
