Description
A foreman is responsible for ensuring that everything goes smoothly at a construction site. They are responsible for being the point of contact between the site workers and supervisors. A few of the main duties are coordinating tasks for the day, creating schedules, oversee quality of the site, and managing the budget. They also must report the progress of the project to supervisors.
A foreman should have four years of experience in the construction industry as well as a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Some of the most important skills that you will need are attention to detail, organization and communication as you will have to be able to run a construction site effectively.
Responsibilities for Foreman
⦁ Report project progress to superiors.
⦁ Complete daily logs in Procore for your jobsite.
⦁ Ensure yourself and workers are working effectively.
⦁ Develop a work schedule for workers.
⦁ Supervise all construction workers.
⦁ Be the liaison between construction workers and supervisors.
⦁ Solve disputes between workers.
⦁ Ensure that a project is adequately staffed.
⦁ Assign tasks to construction workers.
⦁ Ensure that the project is staying on or under budget.
⦁ Verify the project is being completed correctly as per the SOW.
⦁ Ensure the project is being completed with quality.
Qualifications for Foreman
⦁ High School Diploma or GED required.
⦁ Ability to organize a work schedule.
⦁ Ability to solve disputes between workers.
⦁ Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
⦁ Excellent communication skills
⦁ Deep knowledge of the construction industry and processes
⦁ Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints.
⦁ Perform quality checks on construction equipment.
