At Maddox Construction, summer is our time to shine. This summer we accomplished projects across civic, commercial, and remodeling projects that showcase our commitment to precision, collaboration, and excellence. Here’s a closer look at the five standout projects we completed this season:
Heber Main Street Park — Bandshell & Utility Upgrades
This summer, we had the privilege of transforming Heber City’s 3.5-acre Main Street Park. Partnering with both city and state stakeholders, we replaced underground utilities, overhauled the roadway, and built a brand-new outdoor theater and bandshell.
What made this project special for us and for the community:
- Tight deadlines: The bandshell had to be performance-ready by September 1, and the roadwork completed by the end of September.
- Event-sensitive scheduling: We worked around the weekly Thursday market by ending work early on Thursdays to avoid disruption.
- Multi-phase coordination: We managed utility replacements, soil removal, road base installation, and landscaping, all while staying on schedule.
We’re proud to have delivered a vibrant new bandshell and event venue that will serve as a cornerstone for downtown revitalization.
BETOS — Smithfield Restaurant Ground-Up Build
In Smithfield, we completed a ground-up build for BETOS, a full foundation-to-finish restaurant project, delivered in just three months.
Challenges we navigated successfully:
- Complex land acquisition logistics and coordination with the client’s bank.
- Smoothly managing the financial and site setup process to stay on schedule.
The result? A high-quality restaurant build that met design specifications and exceeded expectations.
Jack in the Box — Layton, UT Ground-Up Construction
We served as General Contractor for this fast-paced, $1.4M ground-up Jack in the Box location in Layton, UT finishing in just four months despite winter hurdles.
Key project insights:
- Weather and site complications required agile scheduling and constant communication with tenants.
- We maintained brand compliance, delivered on time and budget, and earned praise from the operations team for the pristine turnover.
By overcoming adverse conditions with proactive planning, we made opening day a proud moment for everyone involved.
SLC Fire Escapes — Precision in Tight Conditions
In Salt Lake City, we completed a remodel involving the removal and replacement of four fire escapes in a narrow workspace with just four feet of excavation clearance.
What we delivered:
- Precise installation work, demonstrating tight attention to structural integrity.
- Minimal disturbance to tenants, executed safely and respectfully in a constrained environment.
This project exemplifies our ability to manage delicate, detail-oriented work under challenging conditions.
Lehi Business Exchange A1 — Retail Build with Complex Soil & Utility Work
This retail build in Lehi, UT involved constructing a new retail building and preparing future pad sites all within a tight 3.5-month schedule.
How we tackled major challenges:
- Unexpected unsuitable soil required over-excavating nine feet and bringing in structural fill — handled swiftly in partnership with a geotechnical engineer.
- Coordination with utility providers resolved conflicts with the city-approved storm tech system, all while preserving schedule integrity.
Our team’s adaptability ensured we delivered robust infrastructure and retail-ready facilities without a single delay.
